Harry Jacobs Scholarship
I’m from Long Island and first came to Virginia to study architecture at UVA. After that I stayed in Charlottesville working at a design-build environmental graphics firm and then moved to DC to work at a small PR agency where I worked in web and graphic design. Now, I’m a first year experience design student at the Brandcenter where I try to create immersive and beautiful communication and experiences for people that are engaging and solve a problem. I also do a lot of arts and crafts.
Barbara Fultz Women in Advertising Scholarship
Sarah knew from the first time she had to pitch a campaign that the advertising industry was the place for her. She is drawn by the exhilarating chance to defend ideas and make a real difference for a brand, despite the long hours and moments of frustration when coming up with great concepts. She is currently a senior, double majoring in Strategic and Creative Advertising at Virginia Commonwealth University. In her free time, she loves to design and cook delicious dinners. In her last year at VCU, she will work closely with alumni and Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow to bring networking and professional events to students on campus. She hopes to be to bridge the gap between being a student and joining the “real world”. She will also be working diligently on her own professional development, seeking out her personal design style and creative process, and taking on internships to find true experiences.
